These are contact lenses designed to help people who have two common vision problems at the same time:
Astigmatism – This causes blurry or distorted vision because the eye may not be perfectly round.
Presbyopia – This makes it hard to see things up close, which usually happens as of the age of 40s.
Multifocal Toric contact Lenses are “combo” lenses as they do two jobs at once: they fix astigmatism and they help you see at Multiple Distances: near, far and in between.1
TOTAL30® Multifocal for Astigmatism contact lenses are approved for daily wear on a monthly replacement schedule. They are not indicated for overnight wear.
TOTAL30® Multifocal for Astigmatism contact lenses have class 1 UV blocking* and a Blue-Violet Light Filtration**. The addition of Blue-Violet Light Filtering** gives TOTAL30® Multifocal lenses a very light blue-green tint. There is no change in on-eye appearance, and wearers will not notice a difference.
*UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear, such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area.
The patient should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed.
**Filtering of HEV light (HEVL) by contact lenses has not been demonstrated to confer any health benefit to the user, including but not limited to retinal protection, protection from cataract progression, reduced eye strain, improved contrast, improved acuity, reduced glare, improved low light vision, or improved circadian rhythm / sleep cycle. Consult your eye care professional for more information.
